Coney Island

Located at the edge of Brooklyn it's a nice beach area which offers many activities. I headed to see what's around this beach on 28th September 2013 and though it's the end of Summer and technically the beach is closed there are many people on the area.

Cruise around Manhattan

On 14th September 2013 we went on a Cruise around Manhattan, we started from Pier 40 Hornblower Landing and went all the way up passing Pier 80 on Hudson River and then came back to the lower Manhattan and went up on the East River closer to the Brooklyn Bridge. It was a bit chilly day but I decided to stay outside of the ferry to enjoy the view.

Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum

I have heard of the US great military power but have never seen an Air Craft Carrier or a Submarine. On Sunday, 8th September 2013 I decided to go to the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum located at the New York City. It’s an old Air Craft Carrier now been converted to a museum and it hosts many fighter Air Crafts, helicopters, a space shuttle and many more at the museum premises. British airways Concorde, a US Strategic Submarine with a Cruise missile are other exhibits.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is bordering United States and Canada is quite far from the New York City. It takes about 7-8 hours to go there from the city. We went there during the Labor Day weekend - 1st and 2nd September). The boat tour Maid of the Mist is absolutely spectacular, at one point you are fully covered of the mist by the horse shoe fall.

The fall at night is beautiful as the colorful lights are focused at the water fall; the view of high rising buildings of Canada side fills the view wonderfully.

Watkins Glen State Park

I have heard of Watkins Glen because of it used to host US Gran Prix many years back but I never knew it had a beautiful park. The Watkins Glen state park has couple of trails, I took the George Trail and it took about one and a half hours to complete the trail.
