Vesak 2011
In Sri Lanka, Vesak in 2011 was celebrated in a grand scale calling it the "2600th Sambuddhthwa Jayanthi". This magic number 2600 was just a FAKE used for marketing purposes. So what happens in Sri Lanka for Vesak? As for the good side there are loads of street lights, decorations and stuff and as for the bad side... it’s utter boring :(
Despite all that we went around Gangarama in Colombo-2 to see these vesak decorations, and here are some pictures...
